Aqua Coat is now available from Tonetech.

It is a water based gel that can be used over stained wood or natural wood. Application instructions follow and a video link to Robert O'Brien's video showing how easy it is to apply.

Surface Preparation.

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dirt, oil, wax and polish. Sand surfaces thoroughly, remove all dust with a vacuum, forced air, or a cloth damped with water.

 Directions for Use

Aqua Coat Clear Wood Grain Filler should be applied after the piece is stained and/or a coat or sanding sealer (if used), has been applied. Any stain and seal coat must be fully dried and lightly sanded with 220 grit or finer sandpaper. Grain filler can be tinted with water soluble colourants or dyes. If no stain or seal coat is used, you may apply Aqua Coat Clear Grain Filler to the raw wood. Grain filler may be applied with a soft cloth, using a circular motion, much like applying paste wax. Or, work the Grain Filler generously into open wood grain pores with a small squeegee or flexible putty knife. Inspect carefully to see if the grain is completely filled, then scrape or squeegee to remove excess filler. Leave to dry for 30-45 minutes then lightly sand with 320 grit paper. Repeat the application if necessary to completely fill the grain. 1-2 coats of grain filler are recommended.

A seal coat over the top is recommended.

Aqua Coat Grain Filler can be thinned with water and dries crystal clear.

Keep from Freezing.
